So can we all agree that Vegas is basically like the party capital of the US? Ok, good…that’s what we thought. In honor of Spring Break, we put together a list of some of the top nightclubs to hit up while in town. It’s hard to really rank them because they’re all so plush, but here’s what we have:

    1. Marquee - Marquee is the top-grossing nightclub in the US, bringing in $70 million + in revenue for 2011 (its first full year of operation). Plus, let’s just take a second to talk about how GORG The Cosmopolitan is. Sooo…how could this NOT be #1?!

    2. XS - XS at the Wynn follows closely behind Marquee in terms of revenue, falling at #2 on the top 100.

    3. TAO - This Asian Bistro at the Venetian hosted 50 Cent during last year’s NCB show…sidenote, their stamp ends up looking like a pretty cute wrist tat the morning after you party there.

    4. PURE - Such an ironic name for a Sin City club, but the stats don’t lie: Pure was “Las Vegas Mega-Club of the Year in 2011” according to the Nightclub and Bar Awards, and was named #1 club in the country by E! Entertainment. It is the 4th highest-grossing club in the country.

    5. LAX Nightclub - The Luxor’s 2-story club is the 6th highest-grossing dance spot in the US.

    6. HAZE Nightclub - Coming in at #7 on NCB’s Top 100, Aria’s nightclub transforms into Ibiza on Friday nights.

    7. Surrender Nightclub - Surrender is the sister venue of XS and comes in at #8 on NCB’s Top 100.

    8. The Bank - The Bank is found in the heart of the Strip at the Bellagio…the “Gold Standard,” if you will. #9 on NCB’s Top 100.

    9. LAVO LV - The Italian-themed LAVO is found at the Palazzo and has some of the latest hours in Vegas. (Which, how is that possible, considering Vegas never sleeps?!) LAVO rounds out the Top 10 of NCB’s Top 100.

    10. Tryst - Rounding out the Wynn family of nightlife spots is Tryst. It’s also #13 on the NCB Top 100.

    11. Vanity - Vanity, at the Hard Rock Hotel, is a bit off the strip…but omg have you SEEN the women’s restrooms?! Plus, we’re kind of into their tagline, “It’s all about you.” Vanity breaks the Top 20 of NCB’s Top 100, coming in at #19.

What’s your go-to spot in Sin City?

  • Smart Personalization

If there was any doubt that Burberry is one of the most influential houses as it relates to innovation and new media in the fashion industry, let it be put immediately to rest.

At the Fall / Winter ‘13 runway show in London, Burberry introduced “smart personalization.” This new technology allows customers to buy ready-to-wear items straight from the runway, by scanning the item with their phone (from the website or in-store). The mere act of scanning will spur a short piece about the creation of the garment, and 9 weeks later, you’ll have a one-of-a-kind item with a name plate sewn in just for you.

Gotta have sturdy, well built racking…not something that collapses when you load it with coats!
We know coats and other belongings can get heavy…that’s why we built durable equipment that can hold hundreds of coats and belongings without wavering a bit. Need some for your venue or event? Let us know!

  • The Difference 2 Years Can Make

We recently stumbled across an article about the American Express Coat Check provided at New York Fashion Week in 2011.

To say that things have changed is putting it lightly.

The article does shed great light on some of the challenges working coat check stations at NYFW - the tight space, the long days - but it is so interesting to find just how different our experience in New York was.

The coat checker himself says, “WHEN people lose their tickets…” and goes on to describe a host of problems and “remedies” to the situation. It’s just a fact that when tickets are used, a good percentage of them will get lost, drastically increasing the work of the attendant and time spent at the station by each individual customer. When the attendant and customer have to make up a secret password in case the ticket gets lost, well, you know the station is in a bit of a bind…there’s too much room for human error.

Our big differences? Our space fit up to 1,000+ coats. We had an express line for American Express VIPs. The retrieval time of individual items (even for checking pockets) was drastically reduced. And…our operation was 100% ticketless, meaning no lost tickets and no lost coats!

However…we did see our fair share of black Burberry coats!

  • Recap: Fashion Week

The dust has settled on the runway; the tents have been dismantled. The hustle and bustle of the fashion bloggers at Lincoln Center is gone, at least for another seven months, and we’re back home again in Indiana.

What an amazing ride New York was for us! A few stats and statements to sum up our week:

    - Checked in over 6,000 belongings

    - At one point, checked out 420+ coats in less than 35 minutes

    - We were told: “This is going to revolutionize the coat check industry…I can’t tell you the number of times I’ve lost my ticket and not been able to get my coat.” (validation!)

    - Multiple guests said: “This is the most efficient coat check I’ve ever seen. It has been tremendously convenient having you here this year…hope to see you in the fall!”

The week was a whirlwind, and we loved every minute of it.

  • Tech in the Spotlight at Fashion Week

There’s no doubt that this year’s Fashion Week was infused with tech…everything from seat reservations to the look of the tent was touched by today’s technology. We love that we got to be a part of everything Fashion Week is doing to propel itself into the future of event operations and services!

Author Lindsey Holmes describes our service during the week: “It was the sexiest and most efficient coat check ever!” Thanks, Lindsey!

  • Of the many issues that can arise during the bailment process, this may be one of the most preventable.
A few months ago, a Florida woman was mortified by a valet who described her as “fat” on her claim ticket. The event not only caused the woman grief, but was an embarrassment to the valet company as well.
The CoatChex Ticketless Technology ensures that such situations don’t come up, as the system actually takes a picture of both the customer and their belonging. This way, attendants can visually verify that they are giving the right belonging back to the right person (instead of having to rely on a ticket number or written descriptors).
